Squeaky door

Just go t back from a 6700 mile trip in our 2004 Monaco Windsor. No issues whatsoever except the door started squeaking so I put some rolled up cloth in the door to stop it. Are there any suggestions on stopping this very annoying noise? Thank you

Get some electrical tape and wind it at around the latch posts, just one, max two wraps. Squeak will disappear!

They're those two things (one up high and one lower) that stick out from the door-jamb on the right side as you exit. You know which ones I mean... the one that grabs your pants loop or pocket and tears it.

By the way, there's several threads on here about making sure they can move up/down a bit to help center the door when it's being closed. Might want to see of they're not frozen up.

Another vote for the latch post.

I searched forever for that annoying squeak thats sounded like two styrofoam ice chests being rubbed together. The sound would come and go and each time I thought I'd found the cause and silenced it forever, it would come back at random times while traveling down the road. Finally, I read that the latch post could be the cause and I grabbed some electrical tape and gave a couple wraps around the post. That was the end of the squeak, until the tape eventually wears through.

Plasticity to the rescue

You could also coat door post with plasti dip. I've used it to dip my enclosed trailer door handles when the foam covers wore out. And they still look okay 3 years later. I used the tool dip that plasti dip makes and dipped them 3 or 4 times to make it thicker.
