stair awning

Just purchased a 2007 knight....it has an awning over steps into unit. Does anyone know if support arms are supposed to look partially out or straight out at 90 degree angle from coach? Only partially out and dealer says that is normal. Thanks

Photo? If you are talking about the male tab on the coach I think they bend a little. I bent mine back almost 90 degree

I have an awning made by Carefree that has to be cranked out with a pole. The max it goes out still leaves the support arms slightly bent, not straight out.

Mine are on a 2011 - guess it depends on where the limit switch is set

awning support

thanks everyone................to me, it looks like the awning supports should extend maybe another 6 to 9 inches, or so............I will have the dealer check before I bring home....................

IMHO,
it really isn't a biggee if it goes in and out correctly since it does very little to shade or keep rain off even if extended another 4 feet

I always marvel at designs that puts the OPENING of awnings right where the door is... the redwood 38gk 5'er below had two large awnings that covered the length of the curbside EXCEPT about where you had to get to go into the door !
so not only one, but TWO awning edges would drip down your neck
I did angle them away from the door, but not much help !

I dont think they are supposed to go totally straight. Would probably break something when the roller tried to wind up the fabric, if they did.
