Don, yes using the screws may be the best way to go. I may need to remove them in the future. I picked the kick plates up this past weekend, but due to weather here in the SE, I could not do anywork in the well. I have a friend who has a sheet metal sheer and he said that if I mark them he will cut them for me.

Just finished installing mine. My cabinet handles are brass, so I used same plates as you only brass. I used a band saw to cut them down to size. Worked well. I also drilled holes in the top of the 7 inch piece to match the lower holes using a drill press. The lip on the top shelf covers them when down, but should be easy to replace if needed. Thanks for the idea. Keep them coming.

When spring comes and I can retrieve the knight from the storage lot and have some fun, I'll just have to go thru DD's full list.

Looks great...I'm pulling carpet and putting in laminate in the spring before our "big" trip...I was looking for a way to finish off the stairs...Thanks1
