Yesterday we had the Steer Safe system installed at our campsite. Took all of 20 minutes! We have one on our Bluebird and I credit that system from preventing a major accident when we exploded a front tire( Good Year of course) . I think Hmiller also had a system installed. Although some people install these for better handling our Dynasty handles well for a large vehicle. I really dont think this sytem can correct a bad handling MH. BUT , we are in Yuma today and I did notice on the drive from Q that the MH did not tend to wander when I looked at my Alladin readout for too long!! Bad habit. It was quite windy as well. Of course it would take a much longer trip to come to any conclusion. However I feel that my unit is safer after the install. Cheap insurance.

I installed the Steer Safe system on our coach a couple of years ago. I am very pleased with it. It 'tightens' the handling, helps with that tiring 'steering hunting', especially when driving on highways that have those ruts caused by the big trucks.

I would like to think that the system would be of great benefit in the event of a tire blow out.

What brand of "Safe Steer" did you purchase?

Our's took 16.5 minutes said "The Dane". We left "Q" this morning and about 20 miles out I remembered the installation. That's good as the install was centered with no adjustment necessary. Like others, the Beav tracks well with no slop but I do feel better with the blowout aspect.

There are several steering stabilizers out there, and they all do the same job. I decided on the Steer Safe, because I reasoned that it was the best 'bang for the buck'. On other words, most of my friends would make sure you understood, 'it was because it was the cheapest'. Thanks guys.

I was intrigued by the Steer Safe method of steering assistance, which is done right at the king pins at the wheels. In effect, this lessens the stress on all steering components, starting at the tie rods all the way up to the steering box.

Anyway, that was my reasoning, and I do not regret the decision to use the Steer Safe steering stabilizer.

Glad your happy with it. I will have to check it out before I make my decision.

I had previous experience with the Safe-T - Plus with 20 plus years on my Rockwood Classic that was on a Gillig chassis. Put a new one on my Cayman along with the Henderson's "SuperSteer Trim Unit". I enjoyed the on-the-fly control I had while driving home with some wind from Quartzsite. I could even take my hands off the wheel, and we tracked straight. Although my wife wasn't impressed ......so I put my hands back on the steering wheel. deSanford

I had the Steer Safe installed at Q and we left for home on Saturday. We headed north on 95 through Parker to I-40 and fought head/side winds all the way to Barstow and we spent the night at Orange Grove in Bakersfield.... I was VERY impressed and my arms were not killing me the next day. Yes it was hurkey jerky but it was easy to come back to center... No I did not let go of the steering wheel...... Ha ha ha ha

The "Steer Safe" is a poor mans Howard system, but it works A-OK. My wife is happy with the system as I'm not putting down the MH for its lack of control with winds. I actually enjoy momentarily flipping the switch to counteract the wind. I just don't say look ""NO HANDS", and take my hands off the wheel anymore. deSanford

I see that the SteerSafe works on MHs and 5ers. How about TTs?

I find it interesting that Camping World doesn't sell it anymore and you get very little info on the web, the website for Steer Safe also doesn't have very much info.
