Hi everyone, Maybe you can help me or point me in the right direction. Monaco support already closed.
I took the cayman in to replace the Satellite radio (M9900CDS) that quit turning on or off and always has had a problem with the sirius.
I pulled away from the dealer and rolled the stepcover for my dad and rolled the shades down. In the parking lot about 10 minutes later, the step cover would not retract. I let the tech know who came out, took the radio out, took the dash switch cover and passenger side cover out poked around for 15 minutes and then took off. The shop closed. I was hot! So I put it back together somewhat, Back to the campground and set it up and started checking it out. The shades would not move and I found the 5 amp fuse blown. Replaced it and that was good. Had 12.75 voltage to both switches and good grounds. Finally figured out how to get that step cover assembly out and retracted by hand. I checked the voltage going to the wires in the motor and am getting 9.75 + and - switching directions. Does anyone know if there is a relay to check or the wiring from the motor back ? The 15 amp Circuit breaker has 12.75 on both sides and i jumped it to make sure. I doubt the motor would just quit. I've had no problems. I removed the ground wiring underneath on the frame and cleaned and tightened them and check ohms for a good solid connection.
Now, those who have that radio, My old one turned off completely, no clock or green light. This one has the screen light staying on and the clock. The radio turns off but I'm worried about running the chassis battery down. The tech says it's normal, but the old one turned completely off.
the step cover bothers me because both my parents have bad legs and climbing up or not having that hole covered could hurt them so any comments are welcome. Thanks as always to all.

Update. I bypassed the wiring and wired directly to the step motor. It did try to move but promptly blowed a 25 amp fuse I had in my temporary circuit. looks like the motor is pulling way to much current.

My step cover froze up a couple of days ago. It turned out to be a blown step cover switch 7.5 amp fuse. My wife and I threw both switches at the same time and blew it. Also check your chassis battery voltage..it powers the step in my coach not the house batteries. 9.5 volts isn't enough to get it moving.

Lennyzx11...I don't know about your step cover, but you need to replace the 5 amp fuse for the shades with a 7.5 amp or you'll continue to blow the fuse, especially if you operate bothe shades at the same time.
