Step switch

I have q 2014 Holiday Rambler Ambassador. Recently had the coach washed. The steps now retract whether or not the step switch in on. I called HR and they sent me a wiring diagram and instruction sheet. When i checked the voltages at the plug I found that the wire from the ignition sw. was 6V at all times. was not able to trace the wire back to the ignition switch and decided to wait until I eook the coach in for servie to have it checked. 3 days, and warm weather here in Tucson, later the steps stopped retracting when the switch is on and worked normally. Is it possible for water in the wiring from the wah job to have caused some kind of a short that told the step module that the ignition was on? It's working properly now and I sure don't want to spray water to duplicate the problem. Any ideas?

Yes. However I would check the wires that are grounded near the control box just to be sure it is clean and tight.
