Step: what am I missing.

Electric step on 2008 Diplomat, worked last year fine. Seems to be no power. Switch inside door has no affect. Cleaned contact to no avail.

Am I missing something?

I'm not so sure that's it, because the little light under the steps is out as well.

Did you check for a blown fuse?

Fuses are good (f101- 1 and 2) and start battery is on, meaning the coach will start?

Worked last year and not now, you said you cleaned contacts; did you clean the ground wiring.
Are you working on Kwikee steps?
Do you have the trouble shooting guide?

The steps are "Frigette".

I'm going to check the ground wire.

Removed the cheesy contact switch on the door. It was wet.

Still don't understand why the step light is not working regardless of contact switch.

I am not familiar with your MH. The step light on my MH only comes on when the porch light is on.

Bad ground can effect all electrical systems.

Tap the motor with a hammer. Common problem is motor brushes failing to make contact. KEEP YOUR HANDS OUT OF THE WAY OF ALL STEP PARTS!
