David.......The radio is a Magnadyne and there are very few people that got them to work correctly. Our friends are currently having theirs replaced under their extended warranty. When you pulled the radio, did you look at the back of it. I gave my Magnadyne away a long time ago, but most of the radios now have a blade type fuse that plugs into the body of the radio.
It's sound like you're also talking about your Winegard switchbox with the red light on the left corner. My light went out, but the unit still worked. Make sure all of the cables on the back of the switchbox are tight. They can easily work loose. They should be snugged with a small wrench to keep them from coming loose.
