Hi All,
I posted this in several places because I'm going to be at a decision point in a day or two.
Has anyone had work done at the Strafford Camping World in Mo? They are on I44 just east of Springfield.
Just did some damage to the MH and the Ins Co wants us to take it up there for repairs. I may have a choice so if anyone knows of a better shop in SW Mo let me know.
Thanks,
Ron

I have had several bad experiences with CW service depts. including the one near Springfield. I will still buy from them if the price is right, but they will never touch my coach again if I can help it.
One of their techs actually told me "Don't confuse the size of their sign with the quality of their work".

My choice in SW MO would be BRANSON RV on the South side of Branson at 5717 S-Hwy 165, 417-334-2376. They quickly and easily fixed a problem with my basement air that another place had mis-diagnosed and screwed up, and they did a refrigerator repair. They did great work at reasonable prices, and went out of their way to accommodate our needs.
A good place to check for recommendations in the area is www.rvservicereviews.com

Just had a very bad experience there which is why I need body work done on the MH. They aren't an option for me.

Ooops! ...it wouldn''t be roof related, would it? ...I watched a guy pull off the road and try to drive in the open bay on the steep slope on the front side and hit the top of the door frame pretty solidlly.

If you are close to Carthage, MO. you might want to check with Coachlight RV.

Nope. When I went in there to get my Norcold recall done I was instructed by Paul, the owner, to drive around the back. I never got out of the coach. As I was doing so the right front grounded, destroying the step and the rear grounded ripping the door off the battery compartment and doing considerable damage to the area including the tail pipe. There is a deep erosion rut across the drive which I couldn't see from the driver seat. I was informed that since I was driving the shop has no liability. The guys did the recall and Paul then informed me that he was going to do nothing about the damage and that he'd put some boards in the ditch so I wouldn't do the same thing to the other side as I drove out. He wouldn't drive it out. As I drove out the tail roller grounded pretty solidly but the boards kept the coach from grounding again. Spent the day yesterday getting estimates of repair, low is $5500 high $7500. I'm not a vindictive person but I do get angry when I'm treated that way. I also won't lie about what happened.
Paul indicated that times were tough for them and judging from the condition of the shop ad the attitude of the employees I can believe it.

Sorry to hear about this problem. Will make a mental note to always walk any area I'm unsure of before driving in. The shop owner should have made it right for you.

Wow!! Just read over the estimates of repair on my coach. Don't ever damage a compartment door!! The battery compartment door on our 04 HR Imperial is $1,155.!!!!
It's no wonder so many coaches are declared total losses after seemingly small damage.
Ron
