We currently driving a 2007 Holiday Ramble Neptune XL with a Jeep Liberty tow with the Brakemaster 9100 system for braking the Jeep, I am pleased with the brake assist but on several occaisions after a long day when the Jeep was unhooked and we got in to drive away, we were smelling a strange odor, it smelled like burnt rubber. It smelled like the tires were panic stopped but every time I check the tires at rest areas for temperatrue I found no heat in the tires or axles. Has anyone else experience this problem.

The only suggestion I can think of is a sticking brake caliper on the Liberty. It happened to me and it did smell something like burnt rubber.

The oder is normal. You collect stuff off the road That smells like rubber. It gets on your exhaust pipe Then burns off.

The dust and rubber off the road settles on your manifolds and on top of the engine. It will burn off after awhile. However the next time on the road it will be back. Not a big problem, just stinky.

Does it on my Jeep Wrangler every time I unhook and drive off. Scared me at first but I then realized what it was and also it was talked about on this forum.

Normal odor. It used to bother me too. I'd check every thing and find no problem. Then after a few more people on these forums posted I came to the conclusion it was fine.
I do check my brakes and tires for heat with an IR gun though.
