Wilkie,

Go to this web site, Vehicle Improvement Products, VIP Steering Wheels,Truck steering wheels, Mack steering wheel, and click on Contact, then dial their number to ask where they would recommend repair service located near you in the southeast.

There are owner's manuals and troubleshooting manuals there also depending on what your VIP Smart Wheel looks like.

I've got the trouble shooting guide. I don't know if it's in the wheel or in the coach. I have had to rewire my lights and wiper just to drive it. It works for me,but i want it to work right.

A couple of years ago, while driving at night, I hit the high/low beam switch and the headlights turned off. I had to drive to a supermarket where I could spend the night.

Since I was nearing the dealership where I bought the coach (used) I stopped there and they wired a bypass that gave me low beams only. Shortly after I bought the coach, the ICC lights quit and they had wired a bypass for that problem. When I got to the Monaco facility in Coburg, I asket them to look at it, but they were booked for the next week and I couldn't wait around.

When I finally got home, I looked into the problem and voila!! It turned out to be that one of the connectors into the smartwheel box wasn't properly seated. After re-seating that connector and stripping out all the bypass wiring that had been installed by the dealership, everything worked properly.

I spent my career in electronics, specifically integrated circuits, and my experience is that most failures occur at the connections. Once a circuit works, it is rare that the failure occurs in the electronics itself. A motorhome is a real vibration test bed with lots of mechanical connections.

Oh, and by the way, when my rear view camera quit, it turned out to be the connection to the Aladdin box.

I bought this coach in Green Bay Wi.and i live in N.C. When i picked it up the lights would not work. They took it to a shop and the man called me next day and said they were fixed. I picked coach at 8am and they did work. I started home and at 9pm and approx. 500 miles south they did not work. If you turn on lights with ign. switch off they work, but start engine it blows fuses. I took it to a dealer in N.C. and after about 5 hrs. of 85.00 hr. rate still the same. I took it home to my shop where i build street rods and i wired it like i buit it. It works for me but it needs to be right.

Did anybody mention A CLOCKSPRING? If you have any switches in or on the steeering wheel you have a clockspring connector that transfer electricty from the switch on the steeering wheel to the coach. They break. Then no lights or horn or wipers.

Guys, I think i have it . The control box had no power. I could not find any bad fuses so i ran some more power and put in fuse blocks. I have not been on the road , but i can idle up the engine with the cruise control that i could not do before. Thanks Wilkie
