Plugged into shore power. I was putting the levelers down.
Suddenly, all chassis dc power was lost. No lights on EMS, but Inverter is charging (possibly overcharging now because I heard the batteries boiling)
All the inside fuses and breaker switches seem to be okay.
The TV, microwave, etc work, but the ems says "Inverting" but "absorb charging."
Help! Have you guys seen anything like this??
BTW, the coach starts, but there is no power to the generator and I cannot start it.
No interior (DC) lights. No AC. No DC Power. Ideas welcome, please!!
Oh, over a year ago, I bypassed the "Salesman Switch", the Battery cutout switch by the front door.

I would disconnect from shore power and try starting the generator. Your problem may be the power pole itself.

I did disconnect from shore power. There is no DC power to the generator for it to start.
There are no lights on the EMS to show whether it is receiving shore power.
Thanks for the response.

Sounds like it could be a battery issue. Especially if you hear them boiling. Obviously not a good sign. If you can safely unhook them you might then test them with a meter. I'd be real careful around them if they're outgassing.

Yep vent the area and no sparks. You need to start with a VOM and find where you do and do not have power and as suggested start at the battery(s). Suspect the converter/charger, if they are boiling they are getting power, perhaps too much i.e. stuck on bulk charge.

If it is just a house side battery, maybe you can jump across to the coach battery for some power. I always carry a jump box for this reason. They are just to cheap to purchase, to be without backup power.
Good Luck!

Does the inverter have 2 small reset buttons on it? Or possibly fuses. Going by poor memory.

Bud,
You say it's chassis DC but you also say you have no DC lights in the coach, so it's the house side also.
1. Unplug from shore power.
2. Turn off both Chassis & House battery disconnect switches at the batteries.
3. Go to your inverter & turn off the power switch.
Wait about 15 minutes.
Reverse steps above.
Maybe if a stuck relay somewhere de-energizing will correct problem.
Let us know.

Bud, Have you checked the inline 150 amp fuse that is in the rear run box. This protects the 12 volt power that goes from the battery bank to the front run box. You have either a inline fuse or a circuit breaker in both of the big house and chassis battery cables that go to the front street side run box. Normally these should be in the battery compartment or an adjacent compartment. Have you checked for 12 volt power in the front run box? Good luck, George

Thank you for all your responses. You won't believe this.
I was thinking that there was something wrong with the shore power transfer switch ($$) or the inverter ($$$$)- something BAD.
In the compartment with the House and Chassis Battery Cut Off Switches, there is a black square with what looked like a molded ridge. This black square is in front of a mounted plastic cover that says "breaker switch". The plastic cover saying Breaker Switch covers two thick red wires joined on a post - no breaker there.
What I found is that the "ridge" I mentioned on the black plastic plate is actually a little arm. The whole thing is a breaker switch! In the "down" position, it disconnects ALL House 12 volt service. Without 12 volt, the fridge won't run, the generator won't start, no lights will show on the main panel. No radio. No toilet flush. No running water. Dogs start sleeping with cats, the whole world goes to Heck.
In the "up" position, angels sing and toilets flush.

Bud, I bet the dog and cat are at least as pleased as you are?
