16 lb is way too high for plastic tanks and old hoses.

Dr when I purchased my coach it had a 16 pound cap on it. I did find an old 12 pound cap in closet ( box of parts). My tank just started leaking around the cap area were it fused to tank. I ordered one online so I get the coach operational again. My plan is to build a new aluminum in the future. Should have a 7 pound cap on it.

Being an 2008 coach you may have the new style tank but if your tank ever starts to weep, a new tank can be purchased at Veurinks' RV.

I purchased mine from there and got the new sensor and fittings on eBay.

Dr4Film ----- Richard

Richard received my new tank last week. Did you have a part number for sensor. I will replace mine.

Perry,

They have dropped quite a bit in price since purchasing mine for $37 on eBay.

Low Coolant Level Sensor XC35-10D968-AA

There are two on eBay now, one for $21 and one for just over $23.

I modified my old single wire sensor wiring harness to fit the new sensor.

The old sensor was a single wire connection whereas the new sensor has two male lug contacts.

I made up a dual wire pigtail with two crimped female connectors on the ends. Then I twisted the wires together and attached it to the single wire harness with shrink-wrap around the entire length of wire PLUS where it gets connected to the single wire to protect it.

The way that I understand how the circuit works is that it uses the lack of ground to activate the Low Coolant dash lamp. When the sensor has no coolant around the sensor to complete the ground circuit it activates the Low Coolant lamp on your dash.

One wire to one of the contacts on the new sensor would work fine but I decided to use both for redundancy.

Monaco used more than one type of low level sensor. Our Dynasty uses a 3 wire sensor. Go figure!

Just an update received all the parts to build surge tank from 6061 T6 aluminum, I'll polish everything completed soon. Trying to see if it can be made for others at a reasonable price, let you know a little welding tomorrow.
