Thanks for the write up Vito.
I am saving a lot of time by using your info when I install my Magnum MS2812 inverter.

That's great. I think you'll like the new Magnum inverter. Even your batteries will last longer. Let me know if you have any questions.

Newbie here, so be nice:
Replacing a 2012 xantrex w/rc7gs with magnum MS2012/ remote and AGS
Do you know where they picked up the 12+V for the run signal from Generator that AGS requires? best i can tell xantrex, signal wasn't required.
Thanks

Boss, welcome to the forum!
Does your old system use a Ridgecreek temperature AGS? If so, then the Gen run sense is a gray wire attached to terminal 2.
It may also be tucked back up inside the conduit that the other Gen start wires are routed in. It is probably taped off.
This is the same wire that provides power to light the red "Run" light on the gen start panel. You can access it either inside the coach or at the generator.
Good luck with your install.

It doesn’t have a temp start on old system, that I see or know of. Any ideas where it hooks up to generator?

Boss, what's the year and model of your coach?
What model generator do you have?

In your front Run box, terminal strip #2 has a "GEN HOUR" terminal (terminal #4). If you can't find a wire closer to your Inverter, you can run a wire back to this terminal for a Gen run signal.

My 2000 Dynasty has four wires for the AGS feature. They are labeled Gen Start 1, Gen Start 2, Gen Run 1, and Gen Run 2. They are Yellow, Brown and two are black and bundled together in 3/8 corrugated plastic conduit.

With the Magnum 3012, did you change the size of the wire going to the sub panel, as it has the capability of passing 60 Amp. thru. Have you had any problems balancing the sub panel with just 1 leg feed it or tripping breakers?
It looks like it is a step backwards going from a two leg feeding sub panel to a single led fed panel.
I'm in the process of changing my Xantrax RV3012GS to a magnum 3012.

I agree. The hybrid inverter uses a single input so it knows when to supplement power.
I used the existing pair of 10 gauge wires. I fed them from new circuit breakers installed on the same leg. This is in effect two inputs in parallel.
I had to redistribute the load and move some of the breakers around.
If you are routing new wire, you might consider (depending on wire cost) using a single feed 6 gauge from a single 50a breaker. You still need to redistribute the breaker loads.

So you use the 2 wires 10 ga to the input & 2 the 2 10 ga wires for the output also?
I’m going to do this later, “wires as using a single feed 6 gauge from a single 50a breaker”.
Yes, I will have to re-distributed the load also.
