I have a 2004 Endeaver 40 FT PDQ, I was thinking about installing the heavier sway bars from Roadmaster. Question is there enough improvement in handling to justify cost?

I have installed Henderson motion controls and found a great improvement.

What is the life expectancy of the OEM shocks?

The Roadmaster anti-roll bars were purchased from iPD...a long time suspension specialist. Heavier anti-roll bars and urethane bushings will stop the side to side roll of the coach. This along with heavier shocks will improve the handling.

Several years ago before IPD was bought out by Roadmaster we purchased a rear sway bar for our motorhome. It all but eliminated the sway induced by passing trucks and wind. We went from white knucle driving to being relaxed with only 1 hand on the wheel. Although we have totally different motorhomes I'm sure the same engineering expertise goes into all their products.

Some of you have PMed me asking to have SacsTC post about the change the RoadMaster Sway-Bar made in the handling...but he can not post here anymore so I am copying the email he sent to nodine here. I hope it helps some on you...

I did do the testing for the Ride Enhancement Kit for the RR8R chassis. However, they did not do the test quite the same way I would have, so it is very difficult to break out what each component did for the ride.
From what I understand, you have already upgraded your shocks to the Koni's and have a "tail wagging the dog" feeling. My Dip never had that symptom even with the original equipment.
With the new stuff, my harsh ride on all road surfaces is all but gone. That was attributed to the shocks. As I had 4 or 5 different sets during the testing, it was easy to tell what difference they made in the ride and I would give input back to Source and they would have Bilstein re-valve and return them to me until I was finally satisfied with the result.
Everything was installed as a kit and the ride height set at the time of install.
I can tell you that the cabinet drawers no longer open and close on winding mountain roads which was caused by body sway so the sway bars must be doing something. I do think they have definitely helped sway, but the symptom you describe, I just don't know. Sorry. I would contact Wayne Wells and see what he says. While working with Wayne on the install, he stated that he had done sway bar installs on other Monaco's and that they made a tremendous difference in the handling.
Please let me know if there are other question you would like him to answer...

From my engineering background, I think you need stiffer anti-roll bars on both the front and rear to totally tame the problem.

Ummm- let's just say one reason is that he had more than one log-in. (He was never actually informed of why he was banned.)

You don't have the pull to reinstate? I thought you owned this forum! Oh well, I'm fairly new but I always found his post VERY informative. If I was a betting man I'd say he's already in here with ANOTHER sign in. I doubt he just wants to watch though. Do we need to start a Free Sacs campaign? i can just see the t-shirts . . . .
