Switch removal

Could someone please tell me how to remove dash switches? Thanks in advance. John

John, they're kind of like a topple bolt. Once you push them through the hole, an arm at the top and bottom pop out and hold it in place. You have to squeeze them closed to pull the switch. Depending on which panel it's in, it might be easier to undo the panel and access the back of the switch. I also learned that my panels that had open area where another switch could be added if needed, had the switch hole partially cut out on the back side of the panel. If you need to add another switch, you can remove the panel and finish cutting the hole through.

Don is quite correct in how the switches are held in place. I have found that at least some of them can be removed by sliding something like a credit card or knife blade between the switch and panel at the top and bottom. This will push in on the arm and let you pull the switch out the front of the panel. As you are pushing the arm you will need to pull the switch toward you. Once you get the top free then do the bottom, just make sure you pull the switch slowly so you don't pull the wires loose.
