Mine is not a Diesel (rear or front), but the Ford Triton V-10 on a F53 chassis. Not only would I have to empty the radiator, engine and the heater core, but I have a 3 way water heater (propane, electric and motor-aid) which is approximately 20 feet from the engine. I figure that's got to be alot of anti-freeze to replace. So if I drain the system, run distilled water along with Prestone flush through the system (for how long and do I need to run the system and do i need to complete a 2nd rinse with just distilled water) before I put new anti-freeze back in? How do I burp all that air out of this system? Any info would be helpful. 2013 Winnebago Vista 30t w/Triton V-10.

And I know that the newer ones come with the OAT coolant. that is what i would put one if I owned it.
I just don't see it as necessary expense on a older unit that didn't come with it.
The engine was not designed for the coolant. The coolant was designed to meet the cooling requirements for a group of engines and now there is a new better designed coolant. Is it absolutely necessary, no. It's just like the new synthetic lubricants. They are higher quality, do a better job, and last longer.

Curious about the owner who flushed his engine a dozen times or more--so what did you do with all the contaminated flush water--or dare I ask??????

55 Gallon plastic drum them to the recycler. After 4th flush there was no more original coolant left. What come out during the flushes was just scale and rust which did not even kill the grass in my ditch. Any other questions?
