I have two Tecma tolets in my coach, we are on the road. Last night I flushed one and it seemed to hang up on the tolet paper, this has happened before but after several flushes it begin to flush again. This time it has not started to work after many flushes, the water comes in then it trys to start but does not and then more water comes, it is not an electrical problem, I think it is frozen or hung up on the paper. I put some Happy Camper thinking it would desolve the clog but with not luck. I started to pour some liquid plumber or some other product to try to disolve the hang but I did not know if it would damage the insides. I tried with a plunger no luck, coat hanger no luck, does anybody know how or what to use to get it working again.

montiem.....I looked up your toilet and it looks fairly exotic. From looking at the installation manaul, my guess wood be that you need to access the pump/macerator, disconnect the hose to it and clean it out. Not a pretty job!

I have the Tecma mascerating pump toilet in my 07 Dip. It's never clogged on me, but I agree with Don. The problem is in the pump that is located right behind the toilet. You cannot access the problem from the toilet. Unfortunately, you need to get into the pump.

We also have the Tecma macerating. Ours has 2 buttons. One for a quick flush and the other for HD flushes. Onece in a while if you hit the wrong button it does partially clog. But after a proper flush all is good. There must be something wedged inside. DO NOT pour any chemicals into the unit. I dont think you can access anything without removing the toilet. On another note the Tecma is one big water hog. If it didnt look so nice I would install a Sealand.

I also have the Tecma toilet and I had to have the pump replaced when I first purchased the coach as there was a problem with the clean water side of it....and other than it being a novelty.....the water use drives me nuts and after 4 days the black tank is toast.....the only way to get to the pump is to pull the toilet.

Tecma Toilet Issues:

Using the toilet the first time, we noticed a large spray of water shooting out into the bowl from the back (We wondered if this was a bidet toilet ). Tecma advised we look and see if the spray nozzle was there and it was not. Tecma sent a new spray nozzle and I installed it easily. Hmmm,,, we wondered... Where might the original be? Well, the toilet seemed to work ok for awhile and then after maybe a hundred flushes, there appeared to be a plug or something in the way. Techma told me I would need to remove the entire toilet and take it outside. Turn it upside down and rinse with a hose.

I was not wanting to do this, but the plug was persistent so I unhooked everything and took the toilet out and hosed and hosed, but nothing came out. (Note: The screws holding it to the floor are HUGE 4" wood screws.. Large Allen wrench to remove).

Just as I was rinsing grass and dirt off the toilet to take it back in,,, guess what? Yep,,, the orginal nozzle fell out on the ground.. I must have starred at it in disbelief. Thank you God

I just wanted to smash the broken nozzle with a sledge hammer into a million pieces for the grief it caused. After reinstalling the toilet it flushes cleanly and with a lot of power and suction.

Removing the toilet was not bad and no mess. Just a pain as I turned off the water, labeled the electrical connectors to match, lossened the large hose clamp and placed a sandwich bag over openenings to keep anything from falling in.

I reinstalled the toilet and used several plastic tie wraps to secure and dress out the back.

Oh, and as you know, for some reason, the back is entirely open. I called Tecma and asked why and they did not know other than accessibility.

I had earlier purchased a water heater insulation bag or call it a thermal cover for something else. This thing is really cheap for insulation that has plastic on one side to keep the fiberglass insulation contained. I cut a piece of the bag about 2 feet square and stuffed it in the back of the toilet (plastic side out) and then used clear packaging tape to seal it up. It reduced the sound by as much as 50 %. Yep.. That baby is quiet now

Why we are on the subject of Tecma toilets. I had another problem later when the toilet red light was on 90% of the time indicating the black tank was full when it was not.

Tecma (Great support) Thank you Casey... sent a replacement tank sensor (All covered under warranty). That was it!!! Problem resolved.

Thanks guys, I was afraid I was going to have to remove the whole thing, we are moving tomorrow and will be at the next place fiur days, will preform the surgery at that time. I hate to have to crawl over the bed and use the back tolet when moving ot stop and put one of the slides out. I will have to admit I put some chemical in the thing trying to maybe free it up but with no luck, I dipped it out after about a day.
