Teflon or plastic strips under slide ends - replacement?

I was looking at our new to us MH under the slide with fridge have noticed that the slide seems to bump a bit coming in. 2008 HR Scepter 42 PDQ.

Looking outside I saw a strip of plastic or Teflon about 3 inches wide and around 24 inches long and around 1/4 inch thick under one end. The end with the fridge had it broken of with screws sticking out and only the last 3 inches remaining. (I believe the screws are hitting the roller and probably tearing it up and I will remove them before the slide goes in again.)

Any idea where I can get a replacement piece?

Thanks

Chris

If you`re referring to the front, road side slide out, it has no rollers -- It just slides on a "plastic" block that is on each end of the slide -- If you raise the carpet up on the slide ends, you will see them -- Bill Willard

When searching for this product use the acronym UHMW . Available on Amazon

Ultra High Molecular Weight - plastic.

When I was still working we would make many things out of nylon sheet.

It was very dense, easily machined with regular home tools and has very low friction.

Here is a retailer that has all sorts of similar materials.

Plastics Canada - Plastic Sheets, Rods, Tubing Supplier Canada

The slide block would be quite easy to cut and router a beveled edge.
I also have a similar set up but I am not sure I could replace mine with the slide in situ. The screws would be impossible to remove.

Thanks for the information. Ok no roller and I saw what I guess is the slide block inside. It seems that the top of it has been "chewed" off.

I'll look and see if I can source the plastic strip.

thanks again.

Chris

Thanks for the link - Amazon Canada shows it, but it is not available
Why list it if it is not available?.

We're heading out next weeked to northern NY and I may be able to find some there or else have Amazon.com deliver some to my US delivery service.

I'll keep looking.

Chris

Check the integrity of the bottom of the slide itself. If it shows signs of any delamination, you may want to install the Guardian plates by Talon.
Another discussion here led me to that conclusion....after I had already replaced the strips with UHMW

Thanks for the link. The bottom of the slide seems to be OK.
The Guardian plates seem pretty pricey thought at up to $300

Thanks

Chris

The slide block is a Lippert Component product -- It is a Raise Block -- Lippert is located in the Elkhart, Indiana area -- They sell to the end user --
Some of us with the issue of a damaged underside of the slide has installed a stainless steel plate -- This fix has been discussed on this forum -- Do a search & you should be able to find pictures & instructions -- Bill Willard
