What did you use for replacing the cabinet inserts? Looks better than glass IMHO and definitely lets the heat out!

Thanks in advance.

LED TV Install-'04 Newmar 4011

Here is the 32" LED TV install I did on our rig.

The fabricated wood portion is 3/4" plywood. The first pic shows the base I glued and screwed to the MH box. The next several pics show the sliding base I made using a good quality shelf support and a TV mount from Walmart that mount w/hooks and pull strings. Note the machined slots in the fabricated TV support that will extend out to hook everthing up. When pushed in the box with the TV angle set, I tighted the 5/16" UNC stud nuts from the bottom.

I mounted a 3/4" board to the back of the sound bar and installed cabinet door latches as the pics show.

Works like a champ and is solid as a rock!!!

Wow, great idea. I just replaced my rear tube with a Samsung and hinged it. I think I will replace the front using your design.

I may as well pile onto this thread with what I did for replacement TV's for the front and rear.

32 inch Samsung up front and a 23 inch Samsung in the rear. The support bracket up front was custom welded and the rear TV Mounts were found at Sam's Club back when I did the project in 2010.

I wanted to get rid of the headbanger up front and for the rear I wanted more storage. I accomplished both objectives.

Here are my photos.

Great LED TV install Larry. We finally bought our 32" LED and are ready to begin. Can you tell us where you obtained your gas struts and hardware? While at Menards tonight, we checked and they do not offer them. Lastly, how strong are the one's you used?
Thanks, Stu

Man, you guys are masters of woodworking. I did a really simple install. I'll have to take a look at redoing it at some point as the space behind looks like it could really be useful. For now, I just wanted the squeaking, non functioning, heavy junk TV from over my head while driving. That and I had some Best Buy reward dollars that were expiring. Quick and dirty.

I noticed when I put the TV in, the input voltage for it is 12volts. That might come in handy someday.

Here's another tip on a bottom fill-in.

My new TV in our new (to us) coach didn't require a Sound Bar so I just filled in the bottom remaining portion with some matching wood that I had professionally stained and lacquered to match the Beaver's wood work.
I simply used 2 magnetic catches for the two ends to secure it.
Removing the false wood cover exposes the lanyard to the locking mechanism that allows me to swivel the TV out into the center of the room for better viewing by all.
