Test for Proper antifreeze in radiator

I have a friend that has a ISL 9 that he had to replace the cylinder liners because of pin holes caused by using the wrong antifreeze. Is there a way to check that you have the correct antifreeze in your radiator for the Cummins ISL9?

There are test strips to check what you have to be sure you have the correct SCA's in your coolant. Best is to go with an OAT coolant that doesn't need testing every few months. That's what Cummins is doing now.

Yep, best to convert to an ELC.

If you change to an ELC (which I have done) you must (ok, MUST) flush the system. Any remaining SCA coolant in the system will mean you don't have ELC protection.

Not trivial, involves a lot of toxic stuff that you have to get rid of properly.

One problem with the OAT coolants is that not many truckers use it so it's harder to find. I lost 3 to 4 gallons of but due to a leak at the hester in front. I did have one gallon of 50/50 mix to add but none of the truck stops where I am carry the OAT. Naturally I'm in Nebraska and have 5 or 6 gallons of concentrate - in Washington! Need to find a Cummins Oasis shop or Detroit shop.
