A few months ago we had the air conditioner compressor replaced by ___ RV repair shop. After some use, I noticed that the belt was in need of re-tensioning so I undertook to do that task today. I ended up with about forty different wrenches, sockets, hammers, pry bars, etc before accomplishing the task. Why the he11 would someone put three different size fasteners, two of which are hidden from view and require the "feel-for-it" in something as simple as a compressor mount? Ended up pulling the air filter and associated intake plumbing to reach the back side of this blasted thing! Anyway, while I was digging all my wrenches, sockets, lights and stuff out of the engine compartment, I happened to notice a shiny surface. Now having been all over this Cummins for the last 5-years, I knew that shinny and engine compartment is not a good thing. The attached photo shows what I found. I do not know how long this has been dangling or if any permanent damage has occurred. As you can see, this is a vacuum or pressure line going to the PacBrake mechanism. Any advise would be appreciated. Sometimes I think that every time I take the Dynasty to a repair facility, they leave something loose just to keep a line up for repair services!

Well obviously your packbrake is not working. The piece on the end of the air line is supposed to be connected to the part on the back of the air cylinder. Looks like it has just come unscrewed, but if that is the case I would bet you would have already screwed it back together. Looks like it it time for another part.

The "shiney spot" I noticed was the threads on the male side of the connection. I don't know if there was a gasket in the assembly, but I installed an o-ring of the approximate dimension required and tightened it back up. Been awhile since I drone the rig and I "think" the PacBrake was working when last used. Maybe one of my resident gremlins crawled under there and backed the fitting loose after I parked it last time.

Ron yours may be operated by a solenoid which then applies air to the cylinder. Fire up the engine to build up the air then shut it down.

Disconnect the wiring at the solenoid so you don't place any voltage on the lead going to the transmission ECM.

One of the wires going into the solenoid should be ground and 12 vdc applied to the other should operate it. Get that working and watch the cylinder for operation. Might be good to spray some soapy solution on the repaired connection. This is a good time to lube the packbrake as it should be operated while lubing.
