Thermostat help
I have a 2003 Monaco diplomat. The thermostat is located above the passenger side seat. There is a sensor in the thermostat is that the one that controls the front heat or is there a remote somewhere else for the front . The heat is turning on but will not turn off I am assuming the thermostat is bad any guidance is greatly appreciated

I can see that you are from Chesapeake, VA, and if this is where your RV is now, there may be another factor that is playing havoc with your thermostat.
I notice that Chesapeake has temperatures well below freezing, and since the thermostat is set in your outer wall, the sensor may well be effected by these low temperatures and therefore don't switch off the heating as you expect it to do.
You could try and take the thermostat cover off and see if the sensor is packed right in and up against the outside of the wall. If it is, you can then pull it forward a touch which may help.
Just a thought.
My Diplomat has no other remote thermostats than the one by the passenger seat.

I am in Indiana for the winter so it's even colder. The only sensor I can see is in the thermostat itself. There is a remote for the rear heater in the bedroom and it is working fine. I took a hair dryer and heated up the sensor in the thermostat and nothing happened.

Does yours use the 5-button CCC (Comfort Control Center) ? You may need to reset it.

Yes it is the 5 button controller. Does the temp probe that is in the controller used or is there a remote sensor?

My installation is different. The thermostat is in the bedroom. The built-in sensor controls the bedroom, and a remote sensor is near the entry door.
You can reset it by turning off the power switch underneath, hold the "Mode" and "Zone" buttons down at the same time while turning the power back on, then releasing the buttons. I find that I must turn off ALL florescent light in the MH before doing this reset, otherwise when I release the buttons is will show "EE", which is an error message!

The answer to the remote sensor is yes. If there is a remote connected, that will be used. If not, it uses the local sensor. You should be able to check which terminals are used for the front and back in the installation manual to determine if it is using an external sensor or not. No wires, means it's using its internal sensor.

My previous 2000 dip thermostat was located on a out side wall, I placed insulation behind the thermostat, and moved the thermostat out an inch which improved the it,s performance.

Turn off power switch under the bottom.
Press and hold "Mode" and "Zone" buttons down at the same time.
Turn power switch back on while holding the buttons down.
Release the two buttons.
Be sure to turn off all the florescent lights before you do this!

Thanks for the info Joe.
BTW, I am in the process of converting all my florescent fixtures to LED.

I have heard that some LEDs can produce interference too!
