Hey all since I am updating my HR I am wanting to replace the old tired plastic rock guard. I wanted to get one of those fancy ones that has the "Holiday Rambler" in chrome letters across from side to side.

What are the pros and cons?? My little tracker toad won't care LOL, LOL

I like the looks of mine and if they are positioned correctly they'll stop debris from hitting the toad.

The secret is to have stiff mud guards abount an inch behind each dual wheel that extends to about an inch off of the ground. This will protect most of the tire debris from getting kicked back.

The full width mud guard needs to be about 2"-3" off of the ground when the coach is aired up and have some play in the hangars so it doesn't get damaged when you lower the coach.

I have a link to a good website that sells the full width guards with the chrome HR logo for a reasonal price. The link is on my home computer and I'll try to remember to post it this evening.

Drifter......I think Future Sales was the one I had on the computer at home. It would be hard to make your own at that price.

Don, Future Sales is the place where our dealer got ours from that was replaced on warranty, there in Elkhart IN., I was told that they were the OEM supplier there. The other link I listed looks like they could be the supplier for the west coast. Both suppliers listed are less than half of what the old and new Monaco charges.

I had to stiffen my rock guard with a piece of heavy weight 2" aluminum angle iron.
[I know, I know] angle aluminum. What also helped a lot was changing the rear mudflaps. I bought some heavy duty truck type flaps to replace the rather small stock ones. I had to cut the new ones down a bit so the would fit. I made them so they are about 2" off the road. The stock ones were about 6" off the road. I took the old rear flaps and put them on the front to replace the even smaller ones up there.

Wow that future price is very good! Just what I was looking for, now I just need to measure how wide she is. 329.00 + shipping

Mahon Thats a good idea. I am gonna look at that option too.

FWIW, when we bought our Monarch, one of the items I had added was a Ultra Guard.
I had one on the C we had and it worked great.
