Tire Question
Has anyone put different load range tires on different axles? My coach came with load range H all the way around, This is what I need on the front, but is there a reason I cant use load range G for the six rear tires on the rear where the max weight per tire is less. I just priced new Michelin's and the best price I could find was $748.00 per tire out the door. Hankook does not have my size in load range H....Thanks, Bruce

You can use them if the actual weight on each tire is less than the max rating for that tire.
Heck, you could run load range D tires if the load on the tire is less than the rating.
Make sure that they don't get rotated to the front.

I would not recommend going to a lower rating, all things considered, try these tires:
Sumitomo Tires
I am thinking of switching to these when I need a change. I did extensive searchibg and they are good tires from a major Japanese company.

You are getting ripped off on the price quote on your tires. In a Michelin XZA2 295/80 I can get a price of $650 each and through FMCA you can get them for $570 each. Those prices do not include mounting and balancing

If you join Monaco International RV Club - Home you can get even a better price deal on Michelins than FMCA offers. Membership is open to the owner of any Monaco "heritage" RV. I bought 6 Michelins at a savings of ~$100 per tire less than retail. It is definitely worth the cost of the membership.

I agree with Mike Canter and docj... I put a set of 8 on my Dynasty last July and paid less than $600 each including taxes, mounting and balance.

I believe the FMCA and the Monaco International Club discounts are the same amount.

I called FMCA and they quoted me $630.53 plus $40.92 Fedral excise tax. So mounting and balancing and other taxes is around $75.00 a tire. Any one know where I can beet that price in Springfeild / Branson MO area? Thanks, Bruce

Something not right here. I have the Monaco International Club Price List right here in front of me and it is no way that price. It sounds like they quoted you the suggested retail price and not the club discount price. You should call them again. Did you give them your FMCA number?

Yes I gave my FMCA# they then transferred my call to some one who could give me discount prices. I,m near Lafayett LA. now and I have called around 6 or 7 tire dealers between hear and Springfeild MO. and only one (TCI Lafayett) honored the FMCA discount and he was the highest at $7,6380.00 out the door. TCI in Springfeild MO was the lowest, and sales tax is higher in MO. Go figure......Bruce

Bruce it can only be a Michelin factory truck store that can do the discounts for the big RV tires. A regular tire dealer that also deals in Michelins cannot. If you go up this website and use the Find a Dealer function then call them and talk to them.
Welcome to Michelin North America RV Website

If there has been a 16% total increase then that is about $88 so that is why they are so expensive now. Probably due to petroleum going up in price. Sure glad I bough my eight tires a year ago, wow.
