I think it is a better setup than the extensions hoses, like mine originally had. They were old and who knows what they looked like under the braid?
The block is to keep the extensions from getting whipped around.

The solid tube is much better. I wasn't a fan of the braided stuff. I changed out mine years ago. Never a single issue except the one time I took the sensor off and unscrewed the inside dually by accident. I won't do that twice. The rubber block just helps support the long tube from the inside tire.

I bought these from here - Diesel Pusher - Class A Motorhomes & Buses (ALUMINUM/ ALUMINUM WHEELS)

They are stems shaped for dually wheels , not extensions , they won't
unscrew accidentally
I ordered them and had them installed when I bought new tires , they stock rubber
stabilizers ( grommets ) shaped to fit our Monaco wheels .

Wow, those buggers are expensive. I paid $36 for the stabilizers and 2 extensions.

Yes I agree they ain't cheap , $ 120 bucks .
But consider that extensions are prone to leaks , although I agree the solid ones are much better than the braided ones .
These eliminated my slow leaks , but who knows solid extensions may
have done the same .
I viewed them as a one time expense and with tire safety being very
high on my list I didn't want to short cut on stems .
