I have a 95 Monaco Dynasty. I plan on pulling a trailer with a Jeep on it. Can any tell me if there is any factory wiring for trailer lights and a brake controller. If there is not I can hard wire in and run wiring from the front to the back for the brake controller but I would hate to do this if there is already wiring there. If there is no wiring for the lights, can I hard wire into the tail lights to wire the trailer.
Thank You for any help
Chris

I can't speak to the wiring on your '95 Monaco Dynasty, but our 2003 Monaco Camelot is factory wired with an electrical harness for towing which comes off of the right side taillight wiring harness. There was also a note on this in the Owner's Manual. The towing light harness was located near the hitch receiver and terminated in a rectangular 6 pin plug. This was then available for owner wiring of the appropriate pigtail plug for the intended towing application.

There was no factory pre-wiring for a brake controller on this coach by Monaco. In the case of our coach the previous owner had wired it for towing a trailer mounting a 7-way plug next to the hitch receiver and installing a turn signal/brake light converter for the trailer lights coming off of the pre-wired lighting harness, and also installed a brake controller running wiring from the dash to the 7-way plug next to the hitch receiver. The controller picked up a 'hot' lead from a battery terminal at the fuse block located in the Electrical Compartment left front corner of the coach directly under the driver's area. This lead to the controller was fused with an added inline fuse.

My guess is, in your situation there may well be a pre-wired harness ready where you can make your trailer plug electrical connections, and that there is not any pre-wiring for a brake controller, in which case you will have to run wiring yourself from your dash mounted unit to the trailer plug at the rear of the coach. You may also have to wire in a brake light converter to adapt your wiring for a trailer application unless you already have combined brake and turn signal wiring.

Thank you for the info but I ended up just hard wiring in a brake controller and the trailer wiring. I went to a salvage yard and cut out a factory plug from a Dodge truck and wired it into wiring under the dash. I then unplugged the brake controller out of my truck and plugged it into the plug in out of the Dodge truck in the coach. I can now use one brake controller for two vehicles. I then used my rope that I left in the pipe under the coach from wiring in a pyrometer and pulled my wire for the trailer brakes from the front to the back. I also pulled another rope through the pipe with the wire just in case I need to pull any more wires through. I now have trailer lights and trailer brakes.
Thank You again Chris
