Trike Transportation

Hello, Considering purchasing a Harley Trike. We would like to purchase a truck and use the bed of the truck to haul the Trike. We would probably purchase a Rampage lift for the bed of the truck to load/unload the Trike. Does anyone that owns a Trike carry it in the bed of a truck? If so, what is the length of the bed of the truck. Also, what make/model truck do you own.

I appreciate any assistance.

Thank You

Hydralift has a model for Trikes.
Youncan also use a unit called Tandem tow.
This will hold a trike and a car on a tow dolly.

These are just options if you decide not to use a truck.

There is a lift that you drive your trike on to. secure it
and it will lift the complete unit up into the back of a truck.
This requires a one ton or a heavy duty 3/4 to handle the
weight of the deck and the trike.

Hi Dave, We have a Harley Trike and haul it in our 2015 F-150 , 4x4, 6.5 ft. bed. I use 9 ft long folding aluminum ramps to load and unload the trike. The truck is very easy to electronically put in neutral and turn off the all but the peripheral sensors so the alarm doesn't go off when towing. The F-150 has the transfercase neutral so it is truly flat towable.

The rear wheels of the trike actually sit just on the bottom edge of the tailgate (the tailgate must remain open) where it is tremendously strong. I use the tie downs in the bed for tying down the trike. Works great. Have hauled it to Florida from PA. and back a couple of times with no problem. My wife keeps suggesting an hydraulic lift for the trike but I am resistant, can still do it with the ramps.

Don't mean to hijack your conversation , but why do you need to put trans in neutral rather than park? You have the transfer case. It disconnects the trans from the driveline. So you should be good to go.

dave email me a phone number dupdyke gmail

I have set up a bunch and have a used rampage with trike adaptor for sale.

I put a rampage in avalanche and in 8 foot box and on back of semi tractor. It only takes a little thinking to make it work...

Stretch, sorry I confused you. The transfer case is electronic neutral, and yes it disconnects the driveshafts from the transmission but the Manual says leave the main transmission in neutral as a safety. Hope that clears it up.
