We're thinking about going to the rio grande valley Tex in Jan. from the St louis area and am trying to figure some fuel cost. We have a 2002 Dip diploymat 230 HP cummins and was trying to find out what fuel mileage to expect. I was just wondering what some of the Rvr's have been getting. Thks, Chuck & Cissy

Figure 6 or 7 MPG. Or don't figure. Just go. If you start looking at cost, you might not want to go. Mr Fuel in Pevely MO was $3.69/gal This last Sunday. Besides, you might get weathered in or out at that time of the year.

WOW...Mr Fuel....I didn't know anyone even noticed that station....it is very seldom being used. McStop (across the street) and QT(next exit south) are the 2 major diesel retailers in the area. All diesel in this area dropped 10 cents during Thanksgiving day, from $3.79 to $3.69

I would guess you will get between 8 and 10 MPG. To be conservative use 8 MPG.

Our coach, which has a larger engine (ISL 400) averages about 8 MPG. I use 7.5 to figure cost.

I usually guestimate $.50/mi, so 1200 mi = $600 ea way for fuel

Yup, a good rule of thumb for fuel cost = 1/2 round trip mileage

This works if you assume 8 mil/gal and $4.00 diesel. Improve either and your doing good
