I have a 2009 Jeep Wrangler with tire sensors as standard OEM equipment. The question I have is, can I add the TST sensors to my toad? Has anyone done this? What would happen if I removed the Jeep sensors and then replaced them after my destination?
Any help would be appriciated.

Are these attached to the valve stems? I thought most OEM low pressure sensors were internal. If they are not attached to your valve stems, no problem. just attach the TST sensors and you are ready to go. If your stems are rubber, TST recommends you replace them.

Del -
We have a 2008 Jeep Wrangler and use the TST tire monitoring system on the toad (as well as on the MH). As you have seen, the Jeep tire monitors are inside the rims, so the TST sensors screw on the metal valve stems and both systems will work independently of each other. The one thing I did do was add the TST repeater in the back of my MH, as the readings from the rear jeep tires was intermittant - Now I get solid readings from all 10 tires.

Has anyone had problems with their sensors? I have had to replace 4 of 6 so far and one of the new ones is out too. Usually wont come on for about an hour or so then it will work for a while. All sensors worked fine when installed. Getting frustrated. Right now 6 are hooked up on the MH. No toad yet. Debating the issue now as to put them on. TST has been great on replacing the units but this is a pretty high rate of failure.

I am in the market for a tire monitoring system. Is this a pretty good one or do you have a better recomendation. This one sure seems easy.

Do you have the repeater? and are you using the external antenna?
Could just be weak signal...

I have an interest in moving to the TST system. Not all that satisfied with PressurePro. Can you be more specific on how you mounted your antennas. Apparently the OEM set comes with a remote ant. and then also have to get the repeater for longer units. I have a HR Imperial, where (inside/exterior) and how did you connect the rear repeater? Is it always "hot" or does it work with ignition? Got some pictures?
Sure interested in your install.
Thank you

I installed my repeater in the bedroom of our 39' MH. I dropped the ceiling light, cut out some insulation for it to fit and wired it to the light wires. It remains hot unless I cut the battery switch off. Since it is weatherproof you could install it under the hood of the toad or in the rear of your MH. Works great, I have a monitor in the toad also and when I'm out and about I can pick up the MH sensors over a block away. I am probably one of the first to run this system since I bought it from the Company prior to TST in Jan 08 and really like it. The new monitor with the interchangable antenna and hard or cig wire plug in is great. On this monitor I use the small fixed antenna instead of the long wire one and with the repeater have had no problems picking up sensors, even from a block away.
As far as service from TST, it has been fantastic, they even covered warranty problems for those of us who bought from the old Company.

sgtjoe,
Thank you for your prompt reply and explaination. Puts my mind to work with ideas. Especially with the possibility of install in the toad which, I think, would enable ignition wiring. Much appreciated.
Charles

I installed the exterior antenna in the compartment behind the LS front wheel, and installed the repeated on the rear cap at the very back of the coach..

mythplaced.
Where both of your antenna installs on the exterior?
(LS front wheel - wheel well? - compartment?)
(Rear cap - high, middle, low exterior? - inside perhaps engine bay?)
Hope you don't mind the questions, but the more ideas, the more possibilities for optimum performance.
Thank you

Yes, they are exterior as I desired maximum reception...
Not in the wheel well...but behind it in the LP gas compartment, which in my RV is an "open" bay.
Rear is in the engine compartment against the rear cap next to and above the receiver hitch
I tried to mount both units on the exterior AWAY from high "splash" areas..
