I am going to try my first Snowbird trip to camp with friends in Tuscon, AZ. late Jan.
Does anyone have recommendations for a campground? I am open to any from dry camp to resort style. Our exact dates of travel can not be finalized till late december, will I require reservations?
We are going to try a day trip to Quartzsite, if we can interest our friends.
TIA!

Just spent the weekend at Lazydays while visiting my kids at U of A. Campground was 80% empty, but they just reopened I believe in September. The restaurant there is open for breakfast, lunch & dinner, the staff is extremely friendly, the facilities very clean. Definitely will return. If you have stayed there before when it was Beaudry RVResort, the main entrance (and after hours entry) to the campground was off of Country Club Road, now all traffic goes through the guard gate on Irvington. Enjoy your trip whereever you stay!

Make sure you visit the El Charro restaurant down town. Best Mexican food in the country!
Lazy days is very nice on the rear of the old Beadry RV property which is now Lazy Days Tucson. They also have a Camping World on site.

Lazy Days would be my choice. It's not cheap (few are) but it is very nice with excellent facilities. They updated the utilities when they took over from Beaudry and got the grounds back up to the par Beaudry maintained. Very nice and conveniently located to all attractions in the Tucson area.

Catlina State Park, North and West of town, actually in the town of Oro Valley. Price is reasonable ($25/night) reservations available on the Arizona State Parks website.

We stay at De Anza RV Resort. South of town about 1/2 hour but IMHO it is well worth the trip. Indoor pool and spa. Very large sites. Check it out....Dennis
