We purchased a new toad and yesterday I completed the installation of the Blue Ox brackets and the wiring. Today I moved the coach and hooked up the new truck. Hitch height is fine with a 2 inch riser. All the lights worked. My wife was helping me and she turned off the Dynasty but the signals were still working. We have owned the unit for 2 years but this is the first time I noticed that the signals work with the "ignition" off. No chime but all the signals work!! Seems like a strange way to wire a motorhome. Are all Monaco's wired in this manner or is there something amiss with mine???

Well guess who just ran out into his driveway and tried to turn on turn signals...only the hazards will work and dashboard will flash with signals..With ignition off, the signals don't work at all...It looks like they have the power tapped off of the hazards or something in your coach to get them to act that way. But since everything works, I'd let it be until something really does go bad. With my luck, I'd end up breaking two things while fixing one..(If it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have any)...Obey the 11th commandment, if it works, don't fix it....I just wish there are times I would follow my own advice.....

Thanks Stuart: Did you know tat is a guy thing. Always try to fix what aint broke. I am sure if we wanted to start a thread on that subject we could fill 30 pages. I am waiting to hear from a Dynasty owner as all Monaco's are wired differently. Unfortunatley it is not just a matter of switching source wires for the signals. Probably involves the smart wheel module and other things as well. I am suspicious as we have just finished repairing a circuit board for the DRL's which started to burn!! That is another story.

The turn signals on my 1993 Dynasty and my 1999 Dynasty worked with the key off. My current coach signals work with the key off. What you have is normal.
