Hello everyone, I am attempting a TV Mod in my 04 Diplomat and have gotten the Big TV out and all of the screws out and the wiring loose in the tv box but it doesn't want to come out. I have gotten the caulking apart on the side cabinets and don't see any more screws to take out. Am I missing something here? I know there are a lot of experienced tv mod people out there cause I have read your threads and would appreciate any help I could get on this subject. I plan on taking the box out and cutting it down about four inches and putting it back in, and mount my 32" LCD flush on the outside of the box, does this sound doable or am I crazy (you don't have to answer that last part about me being crazy). Any help would be appreciated.

Just check around the TV carefully. There may be some metal angles attached to the TV and your cabinet a little out of sight. If there isn't anything attaching it to something, then logic says it has to come out. Maybe even underneath it. Most complaints I ever heard were that they weren't fastened in securely enough. Good luck...

Thanks John, I have the tv out of the box and I am trying to get the box down so I can cut it down and then put the box back up. I just cant get the box to turn loose, have looked everywhere for more screws, caulking, straps etc. and cant find any. Will continue to look.

That's what I did in our 04 Imperial. I assembled the box complete with TV on the dining table after cutting it down to make sure everything was going to fit. I then disassembled it and reinstalled it in the overhead. I posted pix here http://www.irv2.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=2 I've got more but I couldn't upload them!!
All went well, good luck!!
Ron

Hey Pusherpilot nice install, I am doing the same but I will use a standard mounting bracket. I have cut the box down already and reassembling on my work bench before reinstalling in MH to make sure it all fits. Good advice and thanks for the tip. Thanks to your too John H. Will let you know how it goes and maybe post some pics.

When I installed the new LCD TV in the front of my coach I didn't cut down the box. Instead I added to the face frame at the bottom leaving a slot for a new DVD player. It is attached directly to the TV w/ a HDMI cable instead of going through the A/V switch in the coach. You just retune the input to Video on the TV. Did the same treatment to the rear TV. With this set up you can watch two different DVDs at the the same time, i.e. Grandkids on one and I on the other.

Hey there guys, I finished my install and all is well so far. Checked out every thing and it works well. Not as much rattling up front as before and a lot less weight, I was wondering (since I'm such a glutton for punishment) if any one has tried a tv mod in the bedroom with a ceiling mount under the cabinets, just a thought, I have been thinking about it and think it might work. Thought I would remove the little 19 inch bolder and have a couple of doors made to match the rest and use it for storage and hang a 32 inch LCD under the cabinets if the weight was not too much. The tv I used up front only weighed 17lbs. Well I would sure appreciate any suggestions if you have any. I am thinking about posting some pic on my mod. Thanks again for all your help.
