I tried to do a "Search" for any posts I did with TV as the key word...but I couldn't find anything...so I am posting now for the 3 members who have requested more information on our TV Modification.

Here is the original TV-

Here is what it looked like after SacsTC removed the TV. (Notice the brackets on the side that make up the "X" Part of it is used for the bracket on the plywood)

Plywood with "bracket support"- this is the front view...

Back side of plywood-with a smaller piece of "support bracket"

Here is the TV mounted to the articulating arm which we bought from Costco.

Here is the photo with the 32" Vizio TV (also from Costco ) before it has been trimmed out -

You can find other misc. TV photos in this album or any of my other photos albums at this link.

I hope this helps answer some of the questions some of you have.

What keeps the TV stationary while driving? Does it bounce while travelling?

These photos are at the photo link (located on the second page of the album...)

You are looking at the backside of the TV mount. We rarely use the bracket to change the angle of the TV.

Replaced that old Sony TV with a 32" Samsung. Cut the cabinet back 2 1/4 ", and used the old metel frame to mount the New TV. Moved old TV frame to the back side of the head rail, cut out a small part of the frame so the back new TV would be touching the frame. Made my own TV hanger out of 1/8" X 1" steel flat bar to mount TV. Installed a new bottom to cabinet, wasn't able to cut down old bottom , cut would have gone right through map lights openings. Made new trim around TV to finish off.
I hope the images, get attach 1st time at trying this. If not HELP!

Looks very good.

I recessed our lcd replacement about 7 inches further back in the cabinet and cut the lower portions of the 2 side panels back about that much. That way you can walk up the steps and not get a big knot on your forehead.

The only mistake I made was doing it too early. When I did this 3 years ago I could not find a 32" that would fit in the opening. The best I could do was a 26". Maybe next time.

I have been researching changing out the front tv on my 2005 Holiday Rambler Ambassador. I have the same installation as you guys. I am wanting to eliminate the "head knocker" portion that is sticking down and people hit when entering the MH. Problems I have encountered are, the space will accomodate a 32 in. tv of some brands (Emerson is 30 in. wide, available space is 30 1/2 in.), but the tv is higher than the original. If I move the tv up to the ceiling, this gives only a couple of inches of relief on the bottom. Has anyone developed a cushion or pad for the corner that sticks down and catches the head when entering?

Larry, I have no idea how to post pictures but if I can figure it out I will. My computer knowledge is limited, not by ability but by choice. At least, that's the story I tell my wife.

I will try and describe what I did till then. When you remove the old tv you can take out all its mounting brackets with exception of a square tubing frame that is bolted to the ceiling and side panels. You can remove all the screws that hold the tv cabinet in place and remove the two side panels, bottom panel and back panel. You will also have to remove the screw holding the electrical box.

To mount the lcd I got a 1/4" piece of plate steel from Lowe's, about 4" wide, I think, or at least wide enough to fit over the 4 mounting holes on the back of the tv. I drilled holes to match and mounted the plate to the back of the tv. Prior to this I had cut the piece to length so it overlapped the square tubing on each side of the mounting frame and drilled holes so it could be attached with bolts and nuts.

Before I bolted it in place I cut a big notch out of the two side panels back about 7" and up to a point just below the cabinets on each side and at an angle matching the angle of the tv. I rounded and routed the edges to match and polyurethaned the unfinished edges. If you have the oak cabinetry Monaco used no stain, just a clear finish.

Before mounting the tv, I reinstalled the side and back panels. The bottom panel had to be cut back 7" to match the new width at the base of the side panels. I actually threw the old bottom panel away and made a new one out of 1/4" oak plywood. I then had to fabricate and attach some filler strips for the bottom, top and sides around the tv, kind of like the old tv had. This would depend on the dimensions of the tv you install.

I must add that I do furniture building for my son-in-law's business on an occasional basis so I have a shop and the tools needed for the job. Makes it a lot easier.

I just did this for a friend who has an 04 Endeavor. He found an Emerson 32" lcd at Wal-Mart that fit the opening excactly width wise. Had to fill in the top and bottom.

Hope this helps give you and idea of what I did. To get a visual of it, put a piece of tape 7" back from the base of the side panel, stand on your steps and see how much of a difference it will make.

Here's a link with pics of the change out on our Dynasty. I left the front TV solid, by placing a 3/4" plywood backing and secured it with 5/8" bolts. Didn't want that sucker falling on me. I had to access the back of the TV through the speakers adjacent to the TV. I put the bedroom TV on a bracket like SacsTC did. This left me with storage behind to keep my DVDs. I also placed the controller for the solar panel in the space that was created.....Dennis

Here is a photo of what mine looks like from the middle of the coach and the second one is coming up the steps into the coach. I removed the original TV and installed a Sony 32" Bravia flat panel without changing the framework or cabinets.

The Samsung 32" LN32C530 is the one that fit perfectly in the space between the side panels in our 04 HR Imperial. I was able to secure it to the plywood behind the TV using a Peerless SA740PS swing out mount. I secured it in place with a turnbuckle and wood stops secures to the inside sides of the side panels position it perfectly. I shortened the length of the side panels about 4" and recessed the front of the panels so they don't project so far into the room. I have a lot of pix but getting them on this site is a big hassle. Perhaps I'll try later.
I've driven this new setup to Calif and back with no ill effect, however I did wait till I had road tested it to cut down the panels. Next trip will tell if it'll ride OK with the new configuration.
