Under sink plumbing help

I guess I didn't do such a good job winterizing my rig this year and have a leak underneath the kitchen sink. I have identified that the fitting is the problem and need a new one.

Question: what is the easiest way to extract the old plastic fitting? I've never done any RV plumbing and could use some tips. The water line appears to be fine. Also, i am wondering how the metal clamps intended to snug up the fitting and water line are affixed to the water line? I have attached a picture.

What you have is Pex; the fittings are put on with a special tool you can rent/buy from Home Depot or Lowe's (expensive).

Far easier for you would be to cut the fitting out and use an appropriately sized Shark-Bite style push-on fitting. They make plumbing repairs easy-peasy

The PEX ? plastic piping is now the standard for household builds and RV's, there are special cutters for the tubes and crimpers for the clamps.
JMHO: I think you'll end up cutting the tube back 4>6" and installing a connector to a new short piece of tube and a new fitting , once the clamp is installed, the tube can't be re-clamped .
Take this picture to any building supply and they'll set you up with the parts and probably rent you the tools you'll need.

EDIT: I see HoneyBadger types faster than I do; everybody types fast than I do.

Yep, in my experience, the PEX clamps are a pain to work with. I had a similar leak on my shower faucet and here is the repair using the Shark Bite fitting as mentioned. The hardest part was getting hands up in there to do the work.

Thanks guys. So, would Lowe's carry all the supplies I need to get the job done?

Got it fixed relatively easily. Picked up the Sharkbite clinch tool and it was worth the money. Thanks for all the help.
