It is a very good highway, and in good shape. You will enjoy the solitude to Del Rio. The senery and traffic both get better and more from Del Rio to San Antonio. If you are using it instead of I-10 to San Antonio, I recommend it highly.

Good, Luck - Glenn.

Have not been west of Del Rio so don't have any experience onward to Alpine. From San Antonio to Hondo it is 4 lane and 2 lane from Hondo to Del Rio with very wide shoulders and passing lanes. Excellent road. More enjoyable the the interstate.

Mile by Mile has a good description of the rest from Marfa to Dryden to Del Rio to Uvalde. Here is a link to Mile by Mile. Scroll down to US 90 and click on one of the links.

Sixpack98,
Thanks for the link. Looks like a good one to keep for future reference.

Just drove Hwy 90 from Uvalde to Del Rio this past weekend. Nice road. Made the mistake of going to Alamo City at Brackettville in the MH pulling toad. Dirt road for acouple of miles--couldn't hardly tell what the toad was from all the dirt.
