Usable fuel capacity question.

I know the fuel gauge can be useless on some of these coaches.
I have seen 110 and 118 listed as the fuel tank capacity. can anyone give me an idea if you have run yours low how much usable fuel in these units?

I understand the Generator will run out at about 1/4 tank. i have never allowed it to go that low since we run the gen all weekend at the track.

I pretty much know my mileage to calculate how much i have used just not sure what the tank capacity is.. I always try to fill before we get to the track on a long trip since i don't want the Gen to shut down.
thanks in advance.

My fuel gauge has been fubar for years. I found out coming north that my gen quits when my vmspc shows 1/3 left I have put in 100 gal in a 2003 dynasty 42' regal. I try to find inexpensive fuel at 1/2 I get over 7.5 ave and that would come out close to 700 miles. I never go more than 500 to fuel stops. I ran out at the fuel pump at flying j one time and never never again.

According to Monaco the 34', 36', 38' & 40' Dynasty models have 118 gallon fuel tanks

I would NEVER run one below 100 gallons.

Just as a rough guestimate you can figure about 8 gallons unusable due to height of pickup and slope of tank. I put 92 gallons in a hundred gallon tank ONCE.

Mine Monaco says has a 200 gallon tank. 170 gallons is the most I've been able to put in it. I don't like to let mine get under 75 gallons. If I find diesel under $3.00 on vacation come July, I might try lowering the left side to see if I can put more in it.

I put 120 gallons in my 04 Dynasty 42...was told it had a 150. I was in site of the exit I was going to stop at when it ran out. With it leaning to the right I was able to restart.

The bottom of the fill tubes are lower than the top of the tank so I now lean to the right and put another 15-20 gallons in. Leaning to the left makes it burp fuel before it’s full.

My tank holds 130 gal or 500 ltr and my manual said 35 gallons is unusable. I wasn't
willing to carry that much fuel that I couldn't use so I pulled my tank built a sump and put
the new pickup tube 1/2 an inch below the bottom of the tank. Last year year I drove
900 miles and filled up - 105 gallon and had usable fuel left. Before I lengthened the
pickup tube the old one was about six inches from the bottom of the tank

our dip has 100 gal tank and I have gone done to 75 gal used on the display and it took about that much to fill up !

oh, and when you say lean to left, lean to right, can you let us know your orientation lean to passenger or lean to driver is a clearer description for us weirdo's !

i can't fill mine up and park it on a slope leaning toward the passenger side or it will 'ooze' diesel out the overflow...

took a lot of work to get the grass to grow back in our front bar ditch !

Have no idea as I bought mine used. As I can get 170 gallons and there is still room above the fill I would say 200 gallons is correct.

I start looking for good prices when the fuel gauge needle is around the half mark and always make it a point to fill when it's above 1/4. My gauge reads more accurately, by the way, since I replaced the fuel sender. Centroid makes the senders for many Monacos: CENTROID PRODUCTS - Computerized Tank Display - Electronic Senders - capacitive fuel gauges

Brochures for most Monaco products from 1990 on are here: https://www.monacocoach.com/luxury-rv-brochures
These should have fuel tank size and other useful info.

Fuel gauge on mine only worked till it was out of warranty. Even then it was intermittent. When we fill the tank we open a new trip on the Aladdin display. Then stop for fuel when we've used between 60 and 80 gals. Tank capacity is listed as 120 gal. I did run it out of fuel once about 10 yards from the fuel pumps at a truck stop. Attendant came out and put 5 gal in for me. Filling from the high side I was able to get 100 gal in it. The fill tube is on the side which gives a bit of head space in the tank. I will never run more than 80 gal out due to the fact that the coach leans when being fueled and if there isn't a slave pump I can't cram it full. Also if I know that cheaper fuel is ahead I'll add just enough to get us to a lower price fuel.
