Hi,
New to this forum. Looking for used parts for my 2000 Lapalma, specifically 2 storage bin doors. Tried Colaw's in Joplin, Mo, no luck. I am in North Florida but willing to order from anywhere. Last resort is body shop repair $$$$$.
Thanks,
Tom

Tom,
I would be surprised if you are able to find used doors in good shape. Many RV body shops can make new doors. I know the Buddy Gregg body shop in Knoxville makes storage bay doors and I am sure many others do.
Welcome to the forum.
Good luck,
Bob

Thanks Bob, probably the way to go, just need the outer skin anyway, no structural damage to the doors.

Tom, the old Wildwood Monaco facility is open again. It is operated by Brett Howard, one of the former Monaco staff. They should be able to do the repairs for you.

Tom,
I agree with Rex that Wildwood is a great place to start, they are very easy to work with. Another avenue may be to try calling Mike at Tri-Metal Fabrication a call. They are the vendor that made many of doors for the storage bays. I am assuming that you are referring to the metal doors.
Their contact info is:
Tri-Metal Fabrication
3825 West 11th Avenue Eugene, OR 97402-3057
(541) 684-9167
I know he has most of the prints for the doors, so that may be worth a shot for you.
Hope that helps.

David, thanks a bunch for that Tri-Metal info, I'll call them, too. I'm very impressed with this forum, I sort of felt "left out in the cold" when Monaco went out, was looking to sell my Lapalma, but I love it. Looks like here plenty of help is available from the "experts", so think I'll keep it. Thanks again, guys.

Thanks Del, I appreciate the info, I'll give them a call. Tri-Metal that David recommended sent me a quote for $675 per door. Then, I would have to install the 2 doors and take the coach to a body shop for painting. Salvage doors are surely the most economical route.
Tom

Tom,
I don't blame you for looking into salvage doors after that price. I didn't realize they were going to be that expensive.
If I run across anything I'll let you know.

For a RV part, the price from Tri-Metal is not a bad price -- I purchased a door from Monaco (unpainted of course), & it was $715.00, plus $50.00 for crating, & $150.00 for freight -- You will need to have the door painted, regardless if it`s new, used, or rebuilt -- You would probably tear the door apart, if try to take the outer skin off -- It`s stuck on tight -- Matching the paint will be another problem -- Mine has been painted twice by a "pro" & it`s still not a match -- Good luck -- Bill Willard

Tom, what exactly is the problem with the existing doors? You said the door frame was OK. Is the outer skin damaged or coming loose? If loose, you can attempt to fix that yourself. The skin is applied using 3M trim tape available at NAPA. That stuff sticks real good but continued slamming of doors will break it loose. It is the devil to get off.

Have you called Joe and his crew at Northwest RV Supply? He may or may not have them...but he may have a good idea of another place or two where you can get some...Tell him folks at iRV2 told you to call - or you can even tell him "the Crazy Lady" told you to call! ( What do you bet that he will know who it is?? You may want to call just to see! )
