Using a 2000 Honda Odyssey as toad

I just purchased a 30 foot, 2008 Monaco Monarch. I also have a 2000 Honda Odyssey that I would like to use as a toad. Any suggestions, comments would be welcome. Thank you

If you've not towed before, the I recommend towing "4 down" as it is so much more simple, easy and fast to connect & disconnect from your rig. However, I'll have to default to others here on the forum as to whether your Odyssey can be towed in this manner. I tow "4 down" with my '08 Buick, but I had to install a tranny lube pump (see website for Remco Towing).

My 2002 pulls great. just follow the instructions in the owners manual.
I use a Demco base plate and an Excalibar tow bar. Separate bulbs in the lights
All self installed. Honda Blessed the Odysseys up to 2005, but there are some who pull the later ones also.
I have 106K driven miles and >30K towed. The van has the trailer tow package (with Trans cooler) that I installed when new.

I've towed our '05 Ody both on a dolly and four down with the same MH. No problems other than forgetting to let the parking brake off.
They are kind of heavy though, ours is about 4,400#'s dry/empty. It's not a problem for a DP but could be for some gas rigs with a 5,000# towing limit.

As a Honda mechanic for many years, I recommend changing the auto trans. fluid on all V6 models at 15K intervals. It's a simple drain and fill operation, with no filter or screen to deal with. 2000 era models had a higher than normal failure rate, so fresh fluid is your cheapest insurance against failure.

Yep, need to do that on both the '05 Ody and '08 Civic.
