visor / shade 2012 knight
Just picked my coach up after service. One of the issues is the "visor" button does not work when the coach is in motion. The shade button does . The tech says Monaco says this is the way it is supposed to work. In my other coaches a visor was what you used to block the sun on the big windshield. The shade in this coach is a perforated screen like material and not a very good visor.
Either the buttons are labeled wrong or they are wired backwards
Any one else have this issue?
Thanks, Denis

visor/shade
Denis,
You are correct. Look at page 109 in your manual.

I would love to look in manual but I do not have one. I have manuals for engine, transmission, appliances, etc.
Any 2012 knight owners out there? do you have a manual? Denis

Dennis,
I have the same issue, Monaco told me the same thing. I do not call the sun screen a "Visor", it is quite annoying . I have started my driving day with the solid shade down enough that it would work as the visor.
I always forget about it, but perhaps we can swap the modular plugs on the back of the switch, at least that way the screen visor would not work while driving but the solid one would. I need to check that out on my coach.

Thanks for this and clearly it shows the buttons and what they operate. However, it does not mention that the visor does not work when driving, which is what the dealer is telling me.
What good is a visor if you cannot use it when driving? Denis

I know I agree. The service writer at the Wakarusa factory service center told me thats how it is supposed work, it's a liability thing. I asked him what about the liability of me not being able to block the sun with a Visor and being in an accident? If thats how it is supposed to work than Monaco should have installed manual visors as well. He looked at me as if I was from another planet.
Something we just need to modify ourselves.

I have verified that mine are wired backwards.

I put a "BAND" of limosine tint across the top of my windshield to block the bright sun, and when I lower the "holy" MCD shade it works fine as a sun blocker. deSanford

Thanks I assume your visor is the perforated one not the solid one. On my coach the shade button operates the perforated one and it works while driving. The visor operates the shade and will not work while driving

I took the coach to a window tinting business, and had them put the sun blocking film on all the windows. The upper drivers window has the limosine film, and that continues across the windshild (covers up the factory glass tint from the inside). The lower drivers tint is lighter so as to conform to the law. The other windows are a little darker. The coach is cooler during the summer, also during the day neighbors can't see in. At night with a light on inside they can (pull the shades down). As a side note here when driving with the driver's window film treatment the sun is much cooler on me. deSanford
