VMS on 8" tablet computers

Does anyone know of an 8" tablet (nothing larger) that can be used for VMS monitoring? I have the USB version of the VMS. Tablet MUST run Windows. CANNOT be Android. CANNOT be just a monitor.

Problem: Every 8" tablet that I see running Windows uses the USB port for charging, and you cannot use the USB port for data while being charged. I need to find something with a separate charging port.

I used the VMSpc on a 10" Acer Netbook with no problems.

Few Windows tablets. Look for something like a convertible or 2in1 computer.

I have been using an 8" WinBook 802 with a separate charging port that has been running my VMSpc program without a hitch for the past year (see attached photo).

They are hard to find but there is this one on ebay WinBook 802 for $75.00

PS - I believe Insignia also has an 8" Windows tablet with a separate charging port.

Bobged -
What are you using for a mount for your Winbook? Kinda hard to tell from the photo but it looks like the mount clamps or hangs from the dash.

Thanks!

I used the ExoMount Tablet S from Exogear.com

It looks like it's out of stock on Amazon, but I posted the link so you could see how it mounts. I did have to use a non-permanent sticky disc, but it has stayed in place now for almost a year. Not inexpensive, but it works.

Many tablets can charge and use the data ports at the same time. Also one should remember that you can have multiple ports for multiple devices using a simple common port expander.

I’m using a Dell Venue 8 Pro to run my VMSPC, works well, I just needed to find the right adapter to charge and use the USB at th same time.

Could you share a part number for that combo USB cord? Thanks!
