I agree with Craig's comments on the anti-sway bars. I installed them on my coach before the front watts. I think they made an improvement, but certainly not as noticeable as either the rear cross braces or the front watts. Perhaps I do not drive my coach aggressively enough to notice the benefit as much.

Yes some improvements help more then others, but the sum of the improvements make these Monaco Roadmaster Chassis handle really FANTASTIC. Ask the RVers who have made the "improvements". Sanford

I think I'm ready for my front watts link. I already have a rebuilt TRW gear and rear x brace as well as sway bars. Who should I contact? I know Van would have no problem doing but I thought MHughes was doing also?

Hey, y'all! I'm still working at age 67. I'm just trying to "ween" my shop to work without me. Working well so far. As long as I can get an Internet connection even every other day or so, the troops know "Van is watching". When I'm REALLY successful, I'll email them, "Mail my check to this address in the Bahamas." LOL
Do I envy my adolescent cohort Craig F for retiring at 50? You bet your sweet bippy. Of course, I didn't work my ass off my whole life with retirement in mind, like he and Angie. 'Course, having a horseshoe up your butt doesn't hurt any... LOL

OK...so you made me laugh and choke on my box wine. Yes I still have money in the bank that I made when I was 12, so call me a freak. I am just GLAD and feel BLESSED that my "plan" worked. Anybody have some vise grips for the "horseshoe"
I am HONORED to be in the company of such fine men, and gracious for the friendship I have with many of you. Van, you old coot, you are GREAT to work with.
Safe Travels my friends

It is nice to exchange the 4 letter word "work" for another like "play". Sanford (73)

Craig, Mike is making these for a lot of folks. He has been very busy relocating his business, but he wrote to tell me he was back on track making parts again. I'm sure he can help you. If you have any problems, just contact me.
Thanks for starting this thread soooo long ago! Hope you and Katie and your kids are doing well.

Trailing Arms
Van, I have read only through page 47 where you have posted & sketched the excellent list of materials, thanks. I skipped to the end to ask if you have any words on attaching your cross braces to the heaver Source Engineering trailing arms? Thanks and thanks for all your work on solving this wandering issue.

USAF,
I'm not sure, but I think you are talking about a 4-bag chassis? If that is the case, I have never been under one, and can't help you. But Craig F installed a TRW box on one, so he might be able to chime in about what might be involved.
It seems to me that the X-bracing principles would apply to any coach with trailing arms, but the attachment parts might be very different from those for an 8-bag coach.
Craig F?

Thanks, yes it is a four bagger. I also replaced the Sheppard box with a TRW box and that helped the steering play a lot. Still looking to cut down the wandering however. Thanks for your help.

I can relate to what you are saying. I have an 07 neptune on the rr4r like you. I changed the steering box as well like you. I still have some wander and I believe it comes from the rear end. Mainly it's when it's windy and passing trucks. It's definitely better from the steering box change out but still there. Source engineering says the rear antisway sway bar will cure the wander. I haven't tried that out yet. They say the rear bar involves drilling and a difficult install. Their engineers are supposed to be simplifying the process through the winter with a redesigned bar. I may check into it later. If you find something else to work please let me know. I'd hate to miss out a something to help the driveability of this thing!!!
Chad
