Question Warning Light on Dash comes on - 2008 Monaco Camelot

Warning Light on Dash comes on. The book says check all fluid levels which we have done and all levels are normal. What else could cause this warning light to show up? how do we get it to turn off?

We have checked the radiator, the power-steering, transmission, and oil.

This is on a 2008 Monaco Camelot

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You might try the windshield washer tank.

Disconnect the negative cable from the battery for a few minutes. That should clear any codes. If it comes back on then you'll have to search for the cause.

Don't think he'll find any brake fluid in that rig!

Check for any engine trouble codes. In years past that light was triggered by a number of non fluid related issues. Ours was for a misfire due to a damaged injector harness.

Good evening Phil; Others here have had the warning light come on and all fluid levels look OK. Others here have added some fluid to the expansion tank for the radiator and the light went out. You could give that a try and see what happens. Also check the connection on the low coolant sensor on the expansion tank. I had my warning light come on in my 2001 Monaco Windsor just before leaving Az. for the winter this year. I have a Silver Leaf system with a diagnostic reader built in. It showed Barometric Air Pressure Sensor, low voltage. Drove it 1600 miles back to Wa. state with no problems, but the light was still on. Replaced sensor, no warning light. That Warning light covers too many things that the ECM can pick up. You might need to plug in a diagnostic reader to find the problem if what I suggested does not work. Let us know what happens and what the fix is. Good luck!

As mentioned it could be a code. I had that happen and it was a fuel pump problem. Yours could be a number of other things that will cause a code.

Thank you, I was wondering if that would work since it works on cars. I'm adding to my list of things to do and check.

Was thinking that may be the case and will have to get a coding machine to figure this out. Hopefully it is something simple. Thanks for your reply.

Thank you for your reply. Glad you had no problems on your trip back to Wa. This Coach is new to us and having to learn the ins and outs of this thing can be challenging but I'm determined. You make a valid point with the sensors - This thing is 10 years old and eventually I know I will have to repair and replace.

We haven't taken it on any long trips just yet because I want to make sure everything is in working order and with new tires before we take off to hit the western states this coming April - totally different from having a 5th wheel.

I will be checking into getting a diagnostic reader for sure and of course marking things off my list as I go through this thing. Hopefully it wont be anything major and something that I can fix myself. I will definitely let you know what I find or figure out.

Thank you
