Has anyone installed a Splendide washer/dryer in a 2007 (or similar floor plan) Monaco Diplomat 40SFT (washer/dryer "prep" location in closet "far aft" on road side of large closet with sliding glass doors? The "prep" doesn't include dryer vent. I would appreciate measurements of the location for this vent on the the road side of the coach before I use "hole saw" to cut throught the wall of the coach.
Monaco Mama: do you have ".pdf" of washer/dryer installation?
Newby question: how do I reply to a thread?
2d newby question: how do I send eMail to Monaco forum member when they say: "send me a eMail", but I don't see their eMail address in the thread or on their avatar?

Splendide makes a "ventless" model.

At the bottom left after the last post there is a "reply" button or there is a quick reply box just after that. To quote like I am doing there is a quote button in each post near the top.
To email someone just click on their name in a post of theirs and there are options to email and PM (private message) them.
No worries about newbie questions, we were all there at some time. Good luck with the washer/dryer I am also interested in how this works out. We have the hook ups in our MH but not the washer/dryer. A project for next year.

I can post a picture showing my vent location. DeMartini installed our Splendide 2100XC. Other than cutting the hole in the side of the coach installing the machine is fairly straight forward. The water hookups are already there and the power and breaker were already there. We moved the cloths rod to the pantry and removed the doors. And I had to cut the hole bigger in the closet so I could reach behind the machine with it installed so I could make the dryer hose as short as humanly possible. I think it helps cut down on the lint buildup and that helps cloths dry faster if you shorten the hose. The goal was to remove any droop in the hose. They installed ours with a long hose so you could pull out the machine without having to unhook the hose first. With all that extra hose it was getting clogged with lint.

Deadeye,
It appears that the vent is located somewhere near the top of the washer dryer. If it is trying to push the lint uphill, this could also be a cause of excess lint. I would have thought that the vent would be closer to the top of the elect. compartment door.

"Splendide.com " has many downloadable manuals including installation. I just downloaded the training manual and parts breakdown manual.

The vent hose should be as short as possible and be lower at the wall outlet than the dryer outlet.

Don`t get a ventless machine -- They take forever to dry -- I`ve installed a couple of machines, & the hardest part is getting enough nerve to cut the hole for the vent -- Measure so the vent will be straight across, or lower, take a utility knife, & cut the paneling away where the vent will be, so you can check for studs, wiring, & ect. then go for it -- When the pilot bit goes through the outside, go outside & finish the hole -- Good luck -- Bill Willard

The method I used to decided where to drill the hole was to observe the condensation on the side wall in the early morning. That will tell you where the internal framing is. Take masking tape and tape over the framing in the area where you will need the vent. Later when you get ready to drill the hole measure and measure and measure to make sure you know where to drill the first small hole. Be cautious of electrical wiring that may be inside the wall. Once I knew where to drill I started from the inside and drilled slowly with the 3 inch hole saw. Once through the inside wall I removed that 3 inch section and took a look inside. I was glad I did because the 110 VAC supply for the washer outlet was not far away and needed to be moved to the side. I next drilled the pilot hole from the inside and then went outside with the 3 inch hole saw and finished drilling the vent pipe hole.

William- We will install vented Splendide. Our previous motor coach had a ventless Bendix (imitation Splendide) and it took two hours to dry 3 pounds of clothes. We replaced it with a vented Splendide which worked much better. The purchaser of our previous motor coach didn't need washer/dryer and allowed us to remove the vented unit and put the original non-vented unit back in the previous motor coach.
Thank you other owners for suggestions on how to position vent without cutting through 110-volt electric lines.
Does anyone have a photo of the "Factory installed Splendide vent" on a 2007/2008 Monaco Displomat 40SFT?

It is uphill from the vent output from the dryer. I will see if I can get a picture of it tomorrow and post.
There may be a reason DeMartini put the vent in the location but I never asked them about it. I do know that making the hose as short as possible helped, and we follow the Splendide suggestion of running vinegar through the unit once a month.
