Washer Handle Broke

The handle to open the washing machine broke when my wife tried to open it after washing a load of clothes. Washing machine in coach is a Whirlpool. Anyone have any idea how to get it open or have this happen to them?

Use a small flat nose screw driver to replace handle. The new replacement handle is about 50.00

Try a nylon spatula or egg turner and slip it between the door and the washer housing. Might get enough pressure to pop it open without damaging the finish. Not sure if you had a separate latch inside the handle, if so you will have to find a way to release it while prying open.

Got it open with flat blade screw driver. Now need to disassemble door to remove latch.
