Water filter

My friend just bought a 2007 Monaco Diplomat with a ISL 400 cummins and we can't find the water filter. Did cummins delete it on this engine?

filter

I'd suggest being religious about changing the coolant or at least testing.

I'm confused. Are you referring to a water filter for the engine or water filter for fresh water? I don't think I've ever heard of an engine water filter.

We have a 07 Diplomat with the ISL engine.

Never seen a water filter on the engine, but the primary fuel filter has a water separater valve at the bottom. As I recall the Fleetgaard filter number is FS 1003.

I don't know about later Cummins engines but mine has a water filter. It's usually called a coolant filter and it's really used to release DCA's (Diesel Coolant Additives) over time into the antifreeze/water coolant mixture. Mine uses a Fleetguard WF2071 at about $13.00 apiece.

If I remember correctly the above configuration is used in engines that were originally designed to use the older ethylene glycol antifreeze. The new Organic Acid Technology (OAT) coolants do not use the DCA package. They even have a dummy canister to replace the coolant "filter".

All of the above recalled from a sketchy, wobbly memory. Use at your own risk.

On my web site you can download the complete 2007 Diplomat manual.

Look at section 10 page 227. All filers are listed here and there are no mention of a waterfilter for the engine.

Here is the link: Danes on tour

Water Filter

Thanks for all the replies after 40 years in the trucking business I never thought Cummins would ever have a engine without a water filter but as they say live and learn. We will be draining and filling with Long Life coolant immediately. See you in Quartsite
