I have a 2007 Scepter with the power water hose reel. It exits the panel in the wet bay about six inches abouve the utility opening in the bottom of the bay. The curve from the panel down to the unility opening and then out is so tight that it's almost impossible to just pull the hose out the bottom. I end up pulling the hose out as far as necessary and then coming back and feeding it through the utility opening. Replaceing the hose has the same problem. Usually pull the hose entirely through the utility opening and then run the reel. Anyone else have a problem with this and have a solution that makes it easier to use the reel? It almost looks like if you remove the hose from the slot in the panel and let it rest on the bay floor the curve will we sllight enough that you could pull it out and retract it easily. Not a mojor problem just a minor inconvience.

I have an 2006 Camelot that had the same problem. In addition to the in-out problems, I also had problems keeping the hose on the reel during retraction due to the hose hitting the gray water discharge elbow. My panel stepped down about 6-8" on the left side, so I finally ended up cutting the step down off so it was level with the rest of the panel (removing the hose slot) and re-enforced the remaining panel with aluminum angle. Now the hose stays on the reel, and can be pulled in or out through the access hole. I also put a spring clip on the side wall of the bay to hold the pressure reducer which I leave attached to the end of the hose, so the hose in always stored off the bottom of the bay. BTW, I was able to cut the panel without removing it by using a straight edge and a utility knife. Took about 15 minutes. How this helps.

Got an 07 Scepter with same inconvenience. Never thought about removing the step down portion of the panel. Great idea. Thanks!

Put half round of slick tubing on slit and this helped a lot.

Have a 2008 Knight and the hose has come off of the reel. It is behind the plastic wall and can't get at it easily. Any suggestions to get the hose back on?

We had a problem with our hose. You can see how Monaco Service Center made a cut and then put a plastic piece over the opening as you can see in the following photo...

MM, You have a memory like an elephant. What a great thread. Somehow I completely missed it. Someday I'm going to tackle removing that face panel. Sure would like to install See-Level tank sensors. I just don't know where to start with the thing. Guess I'll wait until I need to replace my hose.

Robin...My memory isn't as good as it had been - thanks to cell phones I used to be able to ramble off everyone's phone numbers...now I can only do half of them!!

Actually had a similar question about access to the hose wheel and called the mfgr (can't remember who that is right now). Anyway he recommended cutting an access hole about 4x4 into the panel and then covering it with a small access door. He volunteered to send me the access door and attaching hardware if I'd send him the measurements.

P.S. That project's #14 on my "TO DO" list!

I had the same problem with hose off the reel and unable to go in either direction. I ended up cutting a hole in the panel just above the slit. I was then able to see the reel and the two wraps of hose off the reel. Once access hole was cut had hose in reel in working order in now time at all. This access hole will also make it easy to replace the hose when needed. I sure did not trust myself to remove the panel.
