Water Line to Ice Maker

I have had the water supply line nut on the ice maker side of the solnoid to come loose just enough to let water escape when the solnoid opens to refill the tray. This has happened a couple of times over a period of time. What can I use on the plastic threads that will keep the nut from coming loose. Thought I used Thread seal tape last time. Maybe I didn't. Anyone else had a concern of this sort?

David, Are you sure the nut itself is not cracked?

Perhaps you need to cut the line back and get a new piece of line, a union, and new are ferrule and make a new connection. I would like to see a picture of the leaking connection.

A wrap and a half to 2 at most looking at the threaded connector should be good. Do not over load the threads with the tape. I hope this helps!

I just tightened the nut to start with and it still leaked, but I decided to remove the line to inspect the connection and found that the ferrule had slipped over the end of the line, And this was probably the reason the nut was loose(and of course generated the leak). The water supply line from this point as you probably recall is wrapped with the foil and has the heating wires along side to retard freezing. It looks as if the line was cut a little short during manufacture, and was a problem waiting to happen. I think I will reroute the line and also place a brass insert on the end to try and keep the ferrule from slipping on the line. I also purchased a union just in case this fix doesn't work, but I haven't decided just how to extend/splice the heating wires where they will still work effectively. Thanks for your thoughts and suggestions.
