Did you purchase one of the cheap water pumps or one that is a variable speed water pump which will change speed depending on the water demand?

What is the brand and model of the one you have purchased?

It was the exact replacement of what came out except the newer model so it would be a surflow 4008

I don't know much about the Shurflo Revolution 4008 RV Water Pump as to whether it is a variable speed pump or not.

Here is their web site with specs and information. Maybe you can gleam some information from there or call them directly to see if they have an answer.

If you have a expansion tank you want a high and low switch on your pump and
no tank a variable pump
