I'd like to change to one of those variable speed high flow water pumps.
Anyone know how I can access the pump, or even get to any of the plumbing?

You get to the plumbing by removing the large white panel. You can take the screws out of the edge of the panel then reach behind it and start disconnecting the water fitting and plugs. You might want to call Monaco Tech support they may be able to give you some hints. I have had good luck with finding out how to do things by talking to them.

Jim...I can't help you with getting the pump out because mine is on the floor of the utility bay and easily accessible, but I will recommend this pump http://http://www.campingworld.com/s...vsd-pumps/3247 . I've had mine for six years and it runs great. You have to realliy listen for it to hear it. I can also connect a 5/8" garden hose and spray nozzle to mine and have enough pressure to wash the coach. They are pricey though!

Don't forget to use flexible hoses for the connections if you currnetly have the PEX hard line connected to the old pump. The flexible connections remove half of the noise.

Thanks for the tips Don!
They sell stuff at the home centers these days that will easily connect to the pex lines, right?

I'm chiming in because I have a friend with a Monaco and his water pump was not behind that panel---it was on the floor in another bay as Diplomat Don says----- so find out where it is before tearing it apart.

I have a 2008 HR Endeavor 40ft SKQ and the water pump is mounted on the left wall, looking at your picture, near the back of the bay just above the floor. It appears to be very tight although I'm not sure if taking the panel off will give you much extra work room but I'm not sure. The hoses are just off the floor. Look up behind the panel to see if the fresh task is right there. I have a replacement pump but just haven't been in the mood to work in that tight of a location. I'm replacing with the same brand and the fittings are the screw-on, I bought their "quiet" kit which is basically two short hose extension becasue I wanted to mount it elsewhere but there really isn't any room elsewhere in that bay. I want to keep it there becasue of the heater.

On my Camelot I can acess the water pump by removing a panel on the wall of the rear pass thru bay.

Jim...It's been awhile since I installed mine (6 years). Mine was mounted on the left wall and I moved it to the floor of the utlility bay. I mounted it atop a mouse pad and a small aluminum riser.

The flexible hose connections in either white or stainless in the plumbing department at Home Depot work perfectly. I used a 1/2" plastic nipple to connect the PEX to the flex hose.

Thanks guys. Bringing the coach home soon for a weekend camping trip, I'll turn on a faucet and go looking for the pump noise, see what I can see, then try to pre order what I need for the job before taking too much apart. Not the right time of year for tearing the coach up.

Wish I could just keep it here. Damned HOA

I have 08 Knight and can confirm just like the Diplomat it's on the floor on the left hand side of the wet bay. Mine freezes up sometimes in the winter when temps dip below -0 F and the bay heater fails to keep up. Therefore I spend time with a blow dryer focused on that very spot to in thaw in the morning after a cold night. Yes I don't winterize since we go skiing in our all winter long.

good luck,
dave
